All praises and adorations are due to Almighty Allah, the One who, without any will of mine, sealed my fate—a fate which, if I had been given the slightest chance to contribute to, would undoubtedly have resulted in one riddled with sadness, arrogance, and crippling discontentment. Alhamdulillah.
I thank Allah for the people in my life. The overwhelming blessings of having such unique, wholesome, and supportive groups and individuals have contributed immensely to the meaning of my existence. As I journey—inexperienced, naive, sometimes needlessly arrogant, and often consumed by uncertainties—through the ocean of life, I intermittently peek at the bay. Regardless of how far I have veered off, they stand there, guiding when needed, praying when necessary, and chastising me at the top of their lungs when suited. Alhamdulillah.
My Parents
My parents, Dr. Bello Mufutau Olusola and Hajia Muinat Adenike Olafiku—I have looked around me, observed other parents, and asked myself the question: Who could have parented Mahfouz better? Like any rhetorical question, the answer is self-evident. No one could have done it. Allah entrusted you with this daunting responsibility, and you have done an unbelievable job thus far. I pray that Allah, in His infinite mercy, grants you long life in good health and abundant wealth. Aamin.
Mutu Bello
You are a wonderful sister. I thank you for everything you've selflessly done for me. I appreciate you deeply and always pray for you.
Miqdad, Mazeedah, Muwaffaq
It is a blessing to have siblings like you—ones I can look up to in order to better myself. It is a privilege to have siblings who complete me.
Mummy
It has been a long-standing debate whenever I call you Mummy Ibrahim. Today, I simply call you Mummy, not to flatter you but to accord you your rightful title. You have been a wholesome, complete mother to Ibrahim, shaping him into the person he has become today. As if that were not enough, you have benevolently taken on the role of a little mummy to me as well. It is unfathomable how much you have done for me, and I pray that the Almighty rewards you by granting you all that you pray for. Aamin.
Ummu Anissa & Abu Anissa
You have done so much for someone as unworthy as me—sheltering me, feeding me, and being a home I return to when school becomes unbearable. I appreciate your kindness and generosity. I can only dream of reaching even a fraction of your selflessness. May Allah reward you both with all that you desire and grant you a life of peace in this world and the Hereafter.
The Parliament
My brothers—Ibrahim Ayoola, Abdulazeez Abdulhakeem, Balogun AbdulBasit—you complete my being. I have learned so much about myself through the brilliance of your characters, intelligence, charisma, and morals. Thank you. Thank you.
My Financial Lifelines
Uncle Sheriff, Boda Ahmed, Basheer—you have been lifesavers when I needed saving. May Allah grant you more wealth in this life and the Hereafter.
Vital Victors
Masa’udu AbdulMujib, Garba Yahuza, Muhammad Awwal Ibrahim, Ahmad AbulFath, AbdulQudus—I thank you all for the experience. Vital Victors, it was a wild ride, but Alhamdulillah, we were victorious. We defeated Shaitan!
